Founding Engineer (Frontend)
About the role
Founding frontend-focused engineer to own Letter AI's web app frontend, shaping product and culture in an early-stage team. Build high-performance, AI-driven UI using React/Redux, implement UI with Material UI, ensure quality and scalability in AWS, and collaborate with backend to drive architecture and user experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop high-performance, responsive frontend interface using React and Redux
- Implement engaging and delightful UI experiences using Material UI
- Take full ownership of the frontend code, ensuring its quality, scalability, reliability and maintainability in an AWS environment
- Collaborate closely with the backend team to ensure smooth integration and contribute to architectural decisions
- Understand customers needs and use that knowledge to improve the user experience
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in frontend development
- Proven experience working with TypeScript/JavaScript, React, Redux, and Material UI
- Integrating with backend APIs, using techniques like caching to improve performance
- Knowledge of automated UI testing frameworks
- Past experience or strong interest in generative AI
- Highly collaborative mindset with strong communication and problem-solving skills
