About the role
Founding engineer role at Haven, an AI workforce company for property management. Build autonomous AI agents that automate maintenance coordination and related workflows, leveraging LLMs and integration with legacy PMS systems. Located in New York, NY with visa sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Own projects from start to finish and architect solutions with limited guidance (talk to customers, scope out a solution, build, test, and document it within a few days)
- Full stack development across backend, frontend, and LLM system code
- Work on complex architectural challenges involving natural language interfaces, model evaluation, multi-modal delivery (SMS, Voice, embedded chat widget)
- Fine-tune and evaluate domain-specific models for property management (maintenance diagnosis, vendor coordination, tenant communication)
- Design and implement multi-step conversational workflows, retrieval augmented generation (RAG), search, and QA algorithms
- Engineer large-scale LLM systems for performance and reliability
- Design data pipelines to ingest, structure, and retrieve diverse property management data to augment LLMs
- Optimize high-performance infrastructure for fast response times and scalable model inference
- Own projects from inception to completion including customer engagement, scoping, building, testing, and documentation
- Contribute across frontend, backend, and LLM system layers
- Operate with autonomy in a fast-moving startup environment
Qualifications
- Experience: At least 2 years of hands-on software engineering or 2+ years in AI/ML
