About the role
Founding engineer to build a world-class AI travel planning and booking experience, focusing on backend systems, LLM integration, and end-to-end product development at a small SF startup.
Responsibilities
- Optimize LLM performance and build evaluations
- Integrate APIs (e.g., Amadeus, Duffel)
- Take customer feedback to improve the product
- Work closely with founders and the founding team
- Tackle full-stack needs including React development, data pipelines, and infrastructure such as nginx
Qualifications
- Backend engineer with full-stack curiosity
- Ability to design simple, elegant solutions to complex problems
- Fast yet high-quality coding and delivery
- Comfort with uncertainty and frequent pivots based on customer feedback
- Detail-oriented and edge-case conscious
- Scrappy, intense, and able to drive projects to completion
- AI-native mindset with willingness to read ML papers when needed
- Experience shipping an LLM app (portfolio link encouraged)
- Clear communicative skills (PRs, asking for help, defending decisions)
- Kind, collaborative, and aligns with a humane team culture
