About the role

Senior backend engineer role focused on architecting and owning Porter’s internal infrastructure and cloud-native platform, with emphasis on hyperscaler and Kubernetes APIs, Go-based backend, and cloud-agnostic infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Own our infrastructure management system
  • Stay up to date on the latest in cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes and DevOps best-practices
  • Raise the standard for code quality and our engineering culture
  • Design infrastructure architecture that works across seed-stage to post-IPO, and maintain internal cloud-agnostic infrastructure APIs to allow users to switch clouds
  • Continually integrate newest developments from hyperscalers so users benefit from latest technology
  • Ensure Porter-native infrastructure remains compatible with other cloud services

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience
  • Senior backend engineer with experience architecting internal developer/infrastructure platforms
  • Experience programming against hyperscaler and Kubernetes APIs (Go is a plus)
  • In-person role in NYC
  • Experience with Go (preferred)
  • Will sponsor Visa
