Sr Software Engineer
About the role
The Senior Backend Engineer will enhance the current tech stack, involved in full-stack development, database management, and mobile app support, working closely with technical leadership.
Responsibilities
- Design and build backend services that power our native mobile applications on iOS and Android to leverage baraka’s platform and capabilities
- Develop reference scripts and demo apps against our REST API using tools like Postman and Swaggerhub
- Develop and release new features for our platform using NestJS, Postgres, and AWS
- Work with peers to improve tools and processes for continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD)
- Refactor legacy APIs and subsystems progressing toward a microservices architecture
- Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic
- Manage, reboot, and monitor database systems
- Fully own and independently drive backend engineering efforts
Qualifications
- BS or Master’s degree in Computer & Communication Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or related technical field
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience with full-stack development, database management, and API development
- Experience with software and product building
- Development experience in Angular.js, NestJS, Node.js framework
- Website operations experience with PHP, WordPress, Apache, Laravel (preferred)
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining REST APIs
- Database management with Postgres and Redis
- Experience in deploying and monitoring scalable environments
- CI/CD pipeline development experience (Azure DevOps or others)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
