Staff Fullstack Engineer - Grapevine (AI)
About the role
Staff Fullstack Engineer role focused on Grapevine, Gather’s AI-enabled knowledge and integration platform. Involves building ingestion integrations, privacy/governance engine, UI and Slack interfaces, with emphasis on security, scalability, and AI-native tooling.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement integrations to new external platforms, expanding the scope of the knowledge Grapevine comprehends
- Build fundamental systems like our Privacy/Governance engine, to ensure no context is inadvertently leaked between teams or employees
- Craft delightful product experiences atop the superpower of a well-informed knowledge system
- Build prototypes that demonstrate the potential of company-specific AI, from internal chatbots to workflow automation tools
- Mentor and inspire other engineers to think creatively about AI applications
Qualifications
- Strong backend development skills with experience going from problem to deployment
- Proficiency in modern web technologies (Vite, TypeScript, Python) and backend development
- Proficiency with AI native coding tools (i.e, Claude Code, Cursor, etc.)
- Experience building AI systems (MCPs, Agents, misc LLM provider APIs, etc.)
- Intellectual curiosity that drives you to explore new approaches and stay current with emerging technologies
- Experience building internal tools for cross-functional organizations
- Excitement about working on a small team where your contributions have an outsized impact
- Strong debugging and investigation skills; comfortable digging into an ambiguous problem statement and coming up with solutions
- A keen intuition for well-designed software and well-written code
- Intrinsic motivation and the drive to own and solve difficult problems without guidance
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with technical leadership abilities
- An open and growth mindset when giving and receiving feedback
- Resourceful, bias towards action, and ability to move fast
- Tolerance for doing things Right while iterating and shipping quickly
