Founding frontend engineer to own the front end of Variant, a YC-backed code-generation startup. Role focused on building performant, pixel-perfect frontend components in a small, mission-driven team in San Francisco.
Responsibilities
- Own the front end of Variant as a founding engineer
- Build performant, pixel-perfect frontend components
- Work with modern frameworks like React, Next, Svelte, etc.
- Ship high-quality code with fast delivery while maintaining quality
- Contribute to design-driven software and user experience
- Collaborate with founders and small team to shape product direction
Qualifications
- 6+ years experience
- Knowledge of DOM and browser fundamentals
- Experience with React, Next, Svelte, or similar frameworks
- Proficiency in CSS, HTML, JavaScript, TypeScript
- Ability to ship fast without compromising quality
- Portfolio or notable open source contributions preferred
- Willingness to work in San Francisco and be founding member
