About the role
Residency position focused on designing and testing improvement operators to enhance knowledge state reasoning over thousands of iterations, with emphasis on transparency, verifiability, and legible long-horizon reasoning.
Responsibilities
- Develop and test computational improvement operators (operators) that maintain stability over 1000+ iterations while making genuine progress.
- Start with simple cases (e.g., shallow refactoring of scientific papers) and demonstrate reliable iteration before scaling to more complex reasoning tasks.
- Design and test systems that perform legible reasoning over long horizons to address AI transparency and scalable reasoning challenges.
Qualifications
- Experience with LLMs and an understanding of systematic and verifiable reasoning.
- Strong software engineering background with examples of novel abstractions for automated reasoning.
