About the role

Senior software engineer at Elicit responsible for shipping valuable features, owning end-to-end delivery, maintaining high-quality systems, and contributing to UX, system design, and architecture in a fast-growing AI research assistant platform.

Responsibilities

  • Build Elicit into a product researchers can’t live without
  • You’ll fully own shipping useful, exciting features out to users on a weekly basis.
  • Work on a mix of known features / fixes, prototypes to validate ideas, and exploratory projects in between.
  • Appreciate user needs underlying everything you work on and make decisions to fulfill them.
  • Keep Elicit's bar for quality high by balancing short-term shipping with extensible, maintainable systems.
  • Responsible for your features in production: scalable, resilient, and easy to operate.
  • Contribute to discussions around UX, system design, and architecture.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical aptitude across back-end and front-end with CS fundamentals
  • Mid-career to senior level software development experience on a team
  • Above-average communication skills for cross-stakeholder collaboration
  • Experience or exposure to language models; comfortable with asynchronous code and defensive error handling
  • Joyful, craftsperson mindset
