About the role

Backend Engineer responsible for data platform and infrastructure, including real-time API integrations, Kafka-based streaming, Spark and Airflow data pipelines, and data services powering the application layer.

Responsibilities

  • Work on the data platform team owning real-time API integrations, Kafka-based streaming systems, Spark and Airflow data pipelines, and data services that power the application layer.
  • Design, implement, and own production-facing services.
  • Translate product and customer requirements into durable platform designs, make thoughtful technical tradeoffs, and build scalable systems that anticipate evolving needs.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years developing backend software
  • Designed, implemented, and owned production-facing services
  • Experience with one of:
  • - Experience building and integrating with external APIs (a plus)
  • - Relational DB backends (Django or similar)
  • - Experience building ETL and data pipelines (a plus)
  • - Experience with building distributed systems and backends
  • - Experience with AWS, Terraform, EKS, and cloud systems
  • Strong desire to be part of an early team and create foundational systems
