Legal Fellow - Human Frontier Collective (UK)
About the role
Fully remote, 1099 independent contractor six-month fellowship with potential extension. Role focuses on designing, evaluating, and interpreting advanced generative AI systems with a legal lens, collaborating with AI labs, contributing to research publications, and engaging with a global interdisciplinary network.
Responsibilities
- Collaborative Work: Design complex real-world scenarios, evaluate model outputs for accuracy and regulatory alignment, and provide targeted feedback to improve performance across domains like compliance, litigation, case law, and contract analysis.
- HFC Community: Be part of an interdisciplinary network of innovators and thought leaders advancing frontier AI.
- Contribute to Research Publications: Co-author technical reports and research papers with Scale’s research team (e.g., SciPredict, PropensityBench, Professional Reasoning Benchmark).
Qualifications
- JD, LLM, or currently enrolled in a prestigious 2L/3L program
- Bar admission in any jurisdiction strongly preferred
- Experience as Attorney/Associate, Legal Analyst, Counsel, Law Clerk, In-House Counsel, Legal Researcher, or Law Professor
- Demonstrated expertise in legal research, analysis of regulatory frameworks, constitutional law, case law interpretation, and drafting legal briefs
