Senior / Staff Machine Learning Research Scientist, Agents
About the role
Senior/Staff ML research scientist role focusing on data types and environments for intelligent AI agents (e.g., browser and SWE agents), translating research into scalable real-world solutions and contributing to publications.
Responsibilities
- Study data types essential for building state-of-the-art agents (e.g., browser and SWE agents)
- Guide Scale's data strategy to drive innovation in agent research
- Conduct impactful research publications on agents
- Collaborate with customer researchers and engineering team to translate advancements into scalable solutions
- Work on LLM agents, planning algorithms, data, interaction, and evaluation challenges
Qualifications
- Practical experience with LLMs and proficiency in PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow
- Ability to interpret research literature and prototype ideas quickly
- Track record of published research in top ML venues (ACL, EMNLP, NAACL, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, COLM, etc.)
- At least three years of experience addressing sophisticated ML problems in research or product development
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and cross-functional collaboration abilities
