Founding Engineer
About the role
Fleetline writes optimization algorithms for large trucking companies and is expanding its founding team. This role is for a founding engineer who can tackle a variety of technical tasks, ships code quickly, and collaborates closely with clients and the team.
Responsibilities
- Looking for generalists who are willing to do any task technically to push the team forward (from long-term product vision to integration work)
- Ideally comfortable with being forward deployed — i.e., enjoy talking to clients and solving their specific problems
- Ships code fast and often; is not a perfectionist
- Is an extremely hard worker when they are in a strong team environment and working on a vision they care about
- Has experience at top startups or big tech companies or is an ex-founder/founding engineer; or someone who obsessess over side projects (deployed and live, ideally)
- Comfortable with Python/Typescript

- Experience at top startups or big tech companies, or prior founder/founding engineer experience, or strong portfolio of deployed side projects (live)

Fleetline is building the first complete-context algorithmic load planner for mid to large-sized trucking fleets. Today’s dispatchers face an overwhelming task: balancing regulations, customer demands, live fleet data, and individual driver needs, all while coordinating across siloed tools and teams. Mistakes run rampant, and each mistake is thousands of dollars.
