About the role

Responsibilities

  • Bring new features from conception to completion, contributing code across the entire stack to help people learn more effectively.
  • Be mindful of the big picture from technical and business perspectives, keeping the pod on track for building the right thing and building the thing right.
  • Exercise a high degree of autonomy and technical authority on a supportive team.
  • Contribute to a culture of excellence with candor and mutual accountability, balancing velocity and quality.
  • Advocate for initiatives that improve developer experience and user experience.
  • Frequently assess impact on learners and overall outcomes.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in web-focused software engineering with experience across the domain.
  • Motivation to build robust, maintainable, AI-interoperable software systems that drive user and business outcomes.
  • Ability to work across the stack and own feature implementations end-to-end, including in third-party tools and data systems.
  • Willingness to use the right tool for the job, even if unfamiliar.
  • Ability to explain and simplify technical concepts for others; write maintainable code for humans, not just computers.
  • Strong interest in product usability and continuous improvement of the tools and workflows used.
  • Constant experimentation with AI tools and workflows to boost productivity.
