About the role

Relief Primary School Teaching Assistant position at the German European School Singapore (GESS), a part-time fixed-term, on-site role supporting primary classrooms on an ad hoc basis.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with teaching in primary classrooms on an ad hoc basis
  • Supervising and teaching small groups within a whole class or small group setting
  • Helping to prepare lesson materials
  • Filing and organising student work and resources
  • Supervising students during lunchtimes and breaktimes
  • Assisting lessons in art, physical education or other subjects, as needed

Qualifications

  • Must be proficient in English spoken and written language, classes will be conducted in English
  • Fluency in other languages a plus as you will be communicating with colleagues and students who speak various languages
  • Tertiary education qualifications a plus
  • Experience working with children aged 5 to 11
  • Willingness and ability to learn and take direction
  • Flexibility, organisation skills and a caring attitude
  • Availability to work on an ad hoc basis
