About the role

US Federal tax preparer and reviewer role focusing on partnership tax returns, leveraging Carta’s proprietary tax engine to file tax returns for clients in the venture capital ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • US Federal tax experience for the preparation and filing of tax returns and IRS e-filings, focusing on partnership tax returns.
  • Prepare and review US federal tax returns for clients (venture capitalists, fund managers, dealmakers) leveraging Carta’s tax engine.
  • Collaborate with Carta accounting, fund administration and compliance teams on tax issues related to Carta’s products and services.
  • Productize workflows to deliver fast tax solutions with high accuracy.
  • Contribute to projects beyond tax (e.g., legal, financial) and interact with clients on administering investment structures.

Qualifications

  • Must have US Federal tax experience for the preparation and filing of tax returns and IRS e-filings, focusing on partnership tax returns.
  • Fully qualified CPA (or eligible to sit for CPA exam) with understanding of US tax filings related to investment vehicles.
  • Attention to detail, ability to navigate complex tax structures and documentation.
  • Organized and calm under pressure, capable of managing competing demands and solving ambiguous problems.
  • Passion and knowledge of venture capital and the needs of clients in fast-paced environments.
  • Interest in working on fast-paced projects with a supportive team and as an individual contributor.
  • Experience leveraging technologies to automate processes and gain efficiencies.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, able to multitask to meet deadlines.
