About the role

Engineering Manager to lead design and execution of high-performance trading systems for OneChronos' periodic auction matching infrastructure, bridging technical leadership and product development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and execution of complex, high-performance trading systems for periodic auction matching infrastructure.
  • Manage engineering execution, accurately scoping work (time and staffing) and contributing to production code.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and engineers to refine product requirements and deliver stable, highly accurate systems on time.
  • Shape and evolve engineering processes as the team grows.
  • Prioritize and align work across engineering teams and ensure software stability, testing, and validation.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience
  • 2+ years in a leadership or technical decision-making role
  • Proficiency in a systems-level language (e.g., Rust, C++, Java)
  • Strong ability to scope work and estimate time and capacity
  • Strong communication of complex system architectures
  • Experience leading engineering execution with clear prioritization
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, production systems, and incident management
  • Background in distributed systems, performance optimization, and high-throughput computing
  • Understanding of financial market structure or ability to learn market mechanics
  • Polyglot mindset
  • Ability to deliver complex projects on time balancing technical and business needs
