About the role

Hands-on mechanical design engineer to own hardware from concept through production for autonomous patrol boats. Focus on mechanical design, CAD, prototyping, testing, and production handoff in a fast-moving hardware environment.

Responsibilities

  • Mechanical design using SOLIDWORKS and complex surface modeling
  • Prototyping and testing of mechanical components and assemblies
  • Collaboration with manufacturing and cross-functional teams for production handoff
  • DFM/DFA for cost-effective, scalable production
  • Hands-on prototyping using 3D printing and machining
  • Iterative learning from failures to improve designs

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of mechanical design experience using SOLIDWORKS
  • 2+ years of experience with complex surface modeling
  • Strong experience with manufacturing partners and applying DFM/DFA for cost-effective production
  • Hands-on prototyping experience using 3D printing and machining
