About the role
Software engineer on the operations team focused on building and expanding internal systems, data pipelines, and automation to support Oxide employees and the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Design data models that underpin internal systems used by Oxide employees and unify data from multiple external stores with Oxide internal data.
- Build new tools for our go-to-market and support teams to enable top-tier service.
- Expand Oxide Backend Services to cover design, manufacturing, fulfillment, and warranty.
- Collaborate with contract manufacturing partners to design and build data pipelines for a holistic view of manufacturing programs.
- Develop automated systems to perform tasks and operations that are currently manual.
- Write backend and frontend systems in Rust and TypeScript.
- Provide world class support to colleagues across internal services and SaaS solutions.
- Operate and build upon access control across the company to ensure security.
- Monitor and maintain availability of internal services; participate in on-call rotation.
- Collaborate on build-vs-buy decisions; orchestrate rollout and deployment of internal and SaaS solutions.
- Identify areas for improvement in operations and enhance resilience, rigor, and efficiency.
- Work with every team at Oxide to solve cross-organizational problems.
Qualifications
- Written code in Rust and TypeScript.
- Experience building automation to improve workflows.
- Experience working directly with APIs for Salesforce, Zendesk, NetSuite or other data storage SaaS stores.
- Hands-on experience using LLMs for engineering tasks and understanding when to rely on them.
- Very comfortable at a Unix terminal.
