Senior Product Engineer
About the role
Senior Software Engineer with a product-focused mindset to contribute to Prolific’s human data infrastructure. The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, full-stack capabilities, and delivering high-value features across cloud platforms with a bias for action in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- As a member of a cross-functional, stream-aligned team, work with engineering manager, product manager, designer, and 4-5 other engineers including a tech lead
- Plan, build and support software that customers love using agile practices
- Be highly self-motivated and energetic in a fast-paced environment with a bias for action
- Collaborate with teams outside of product engineering, including customer interaction to understand needs
- Work across major cloud providers: AWS, GCP & Azure
- Adopt a You Build It, You Run It mindset with end-to-end product knowledge from code commit to production
- Support production systems with monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog) and strive for observable, stable systems
- Champion engineering principles and contribute to a growth mindset and engineering culture
- Push for high-value, impactful work for users
Qualifications
- Experience building Typescript/Javascript applications and using NoSQL databases
- Experience using Python
- Deep understanding of modern web applications
- Knowledge of Event-Driven Architecture
- Experience using AWS (Serverless) and/or GCP
- Understanding the importance of test automation
- Production experience with observability practices (e.g., RUM, tracing)
- Collaborative environment experience with strong engineering practices
- Customer value focus and product lifecycle mindset
- Data-driven decision making and culture of feedback
- Eagerness for learning and self-improvement
