About the role
A role focused on optimizing mobile app performance and stability for a real-time financial app built with React Native, ensuring a native-like experience on mobile devices.
Responsibilities
- Zero-Lag Navigation: Architect a 1-1 screen transition map using Native Stack for hardware-accelerated transitions.
- Frame Rate Optimization: Maintain a locked 60 FPS (or 120 FPS on ProMotion displays) across all lists and complex views.
- Crash Management: Implement error-tracking tools (Sentry/Crashlytics) to achieve a crash-free rate of 99.9%, debugging native-layer memory leaks and JS-thread hangs.
- Instant Updates: Engineer data-fetching strategies for critical info that updates seamlessly on app foregrounding.
- Optimistic UI: Implement
- Cache Strategy: Design a local caching layer to eliminate loading spinners for returning users.
- Declarative Animations: Build physics-based, interruptible animations using `react-native-reanimated` on the UI thread.
- Gesture-Driven Design: Implement native-feel interactions responding instantly to touch.
Qualifications
- Expert-level proficiency in `react-native-reanimated`, `react-native-gesture-handler`, and `react-native-screens`.
- Professional experience with TanStack Query (React Query) or SWR.
- Deep understanding of React Native architecture, including Bridge and Fabric, and ability to write custom TurboModules in Swift or Kotlin.
- Proven experience optimizing large datasets using `FlashList` or `FlatLists`.
- Mastery of profiling tools like Flipper, React DevTools, and native profilers.
