Machine Learning Fellow - Human Frontier Collective (Canada)
About the role
Fellowship position with Human Frontier Collective in collaboration with Scale AI, focused on applying and advancing frontier AI research through collaboration with Scale AI and affiliated labs. Remote, 1099 contractor engagement.
Responsibilities
- Participate in AI/ML projects with Scale AI and affiliated partners, including building AI safety and policy guardrails, understanding real-world deep learning workflows, designing, reviewing, and optimizing PyTorch models, evaluating ML code and AI-generated implementations for efficiency and correctness, and related tasks as part of selected projects.
- Collaborate with Scale’s research team to co-author technical reports and research papers.
- Engage with the HFC community network, newsletters, discussions, virtual sessions, and events.
Qualifications
- PhD or postdoctoral research experience in Machine Learning, Computer Science, or related field; or senior industry experience in Machine Learning or related field.
- Strong proficiency in Python and modern ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow).
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and MLOps tools (Docker).
- Familiarity with LLM frameworks (LangChain) is a plus.
- Detail-oriented, innovative thinker with a passion for applied AI research and collaboration.
