About the role
Data Center Technician role supporting day-to-day operation and maintenance of critical infrastructure in a mission-critical data center, focusing on hands-on operational support, preventive maintenance, and safe, compliant procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining UPS systems, switchgear, transformers, PDUs, generators, fuel cells, and BESS (as applicable)
- Support switching activities under approved MOPs and supervision
- Record system readings and report abnormalities
- Assist with redundancy checks following maintenance
- Support operation of critical cooling systems (air and liquid-based)
- Assist with monitoring rear-door heat exchangers, CDUs, and direct-to-chip cooling systems
- Record temperature, environmental, and flow data
- Perform routine inspections of liquid cooling components and report abnormalities
- Support leak detection and containment procedures
- Execute approved MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs under supervision
- Maintain accurate logs, maintenance records, and inspection checklists
- Assist with vendor coordination and site access processes
- Support post-maintenance documentation updates
- Follow LOTO and electrical safety procedures
- Support site access control and escort vendors as needed
- Maintain compliance with site policies and audit requirements
- Participate in emergency response drills and exercises
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in data center, critical facilities, or industrial operations preferred
- Basic understanding of electrical and/or mechanical systems
- Exposure to liquid cooling environments (rear-door or direct-to-chip) a plus
- Familiarity with structured procedures and documentation processes
- Willingness to work in a 24/7 operational environment
- Technical certification or trade background preferred
