About the role

Frontend Engineer for Harmattan AI's C2 Core team in Paris, building the operator UI for a battlefield C2 system (HMI) with real-time COP updates, multi-stream video, and mission planning tools.

Responsibilities

  • COP Visualization: Build interactive maps and 2D/3D geospatial overlays displaying real-time robot telemetry, sensor data, and mission routes.
  • Real-Time Video Grid: Develop a low-latency, resilient video player interface capable of handling multiple simultaneous streams without freezing the main UI thread.
  • Mission Planning & Command: Create interactive tools for operators to draw waypoints, set mission parameters, and issue instant commands to the fleet.
  • Performance Architecture: Design a state management system capable of processing high-frequency data from the backend bus without causing UI jitter or memory leaks.
  • Collaborative Development: Work closely with UX/UI designers, backend engineers, and mission planning algorithm designers to refine workflows and ensure absolute minimum clicks for the operator.
  • Optimisation: Ensure the UI maintains strict performance benchmarks, such as consistent 60fps rendering, even during high-frequency map updates.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.Sc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5-6 years of experience shipping production-grade web applications with complex data visualisation.
