About the role

Machine learning engineer focused on applying cutting-edge ML techniques to image and video processing challenges. Develops model architectures, optimizes for memory, power, and speed, and ports solutions across platforms, impacting Apple products and customer experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Prototype innovative deep learning applications for video processing
  • Design sophisticated model architectures and fine-tune performance parameters
  • Implement architectural modifications to enhance output quality
  • Port solutions across different platforms and optimize for memory, power, and processing speed
  • Distribute computational workloads across CPU, GPU, Apple Neural Engine, and other hardware components
  • Present and demonstrate work to cross-functional teams and leadership

Qualifications

  • BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience
  • Excellent fundamentals in machine learning
  • Knowledge of Video or Image processing or Computer Vision
  • Solid programming skills for common ML frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow
  • Experience in prototyping models for edge devices through quick iterations
  • Familiarity with productization flow for ML models
  • Prior experience working on deep learning techniques for video processing / computer vision
  • Strong fundamentals in Computer architecture
  • Good written and oral interpersonal skills
