About the role

Senior Recruiter role focused on sourcing, screening, and closing senior research staff for GiveWell’s research and leadership roles, with emphasis on building pipelines, data-driven assessment, and improving hiring processes in a mission-driven, high-standards environment.

Responsibilities

  • - Own recruiting for Researcher, Program Officer, Senior Researcher, and Senior Program Officer roles in collaboration with research leadership.
  • - Analyze and improve assessment processes (e.g., how early screening scores predict work trial performance; reasons for rejections; outcomes of past hires).
  • - Develop and optimize candidate sourcing pipelines using creative methods (referrals, conferences, sourcing tools, etc.).
  • - Track data, run analyses, and help make evidence-based hiring decisions; build data architecture if needed.
  • - Improve hiring processes through experimentation (A/B tests, sourcing campaigns) and broader strategic questions.
  • - Conduct bread-and-butter recruiting tasks: screening applications, writing outreach emails, interviewing candidates.
  • - Collaborate with Manager of Talent Acquisition, Research Program Director, and other team members on sourcing and evaluation.

Qualifications

  • - Experience in recruiting, talent operations, research operations, or generalist roles in mission-driven organizations (preferred but not required).
  • - Comfort with data, spreadsheets, and basic quantitative analysis.
  • - Strong written communication.
  • - Experience working with executive-level leadership.
  • - Familiarity with global health, development economics, or effective altruism is a plus but not required.
