About the role

Waabi is hiring for a Senior / Staff Software Engineer, Sensors Integration to build and scale the onboard sensors platform for Waabi Driver, integrating and fielding sensor systems (LIDAR, RADAR, cameras) on live autonomous vehicles and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Help shape the Waabi sensors platform as we scale.
  • Solve challenging integration issues across a number of sensor modalities (LIDAR, RADAR, cameras...).
  • Deploy and debug software on real vehicles operating in the field daily.
  • Integrate new types of sensors into existing and future onboard platforms.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary development teams to design and build innovative sensor solutions.
  • Work closely with operations teams to understand live system behavior, resolve issues and mature the system going forward.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of industry experience working on fielded sensor systems (cameras, lidar, radar, GPS, IMU)
  • Collaborating with large teams that span many disciplines from engineering to operations.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ or Rust (we use Rust) in resource constrained environments.
  • Independently led engineering effort to solve critical systems problems.
  • Experience having fielded and debugged Linux systems below the application level.
