About the role

Data Science role focused on designing and deploying advanced analytics solutions to drive decisions in Apple’s supply chain. Emphasis on GenAI, agentic AI, experimentation, and end-to-end project delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with business teams to identify opportunities through in-depth conversations and translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Design and architect end-to-end data science solutions—selecting established techniques or engineering novel algorithms for complex supply chain problems
  • Collaborate with data engineers and infrastructure to implement robust solutions and operationalize models
  • Monitor and iterate deployed solutions to meet changing business needs
  • Present key findings to leadership in non-technical terms
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies (GenAI, agentic frameworks, advanced visualization) to expand capabilities
  • Champion experimentation and continuous learning for reporting, business analytics, and AI-powered automation
  • Develop custom models, algorithms, and interactive visualizations (dashboards, self-service tools) for scalable Supply Chain insights
  • Wrangle and analyze data to identify patterns and engineer features
  • Define and track key performance metrics to quantify business value of deployed data science solutions

Qualifications

  • PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math, Data Science, Operations Research or related field with 5+ years of industry experience OR MS in related field with 8+ years hands-on experience
  • Demonstrated experience in forecasting, optimization, or simulation within supply chain or operations domains
  • Proven experience building and deploying large-scale data science and machine learning models with MLOps practices (anomaly detection, NLP, deep learning)
  • Experience prototyping and developing software in Python and advanced SQL for data manipulation
  • Experience building scalable GenAI/Agentic solutions using MCP servers, agents, and skills
  • Experience with data acquisition tools (SQL), data mining and data visualization; familiarity with Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch
  • Proficiency in programming languages (Python/Java/C++) and data pipelines
  • Track record of adopting emerging technologies (LLMs, RAG, vector databases) and building functional prototypes
  • Ability to own and deliver end-to-end projects from scoping through deployment and post-launch iteration
  • Proficiency with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake), relational DBs (e.g., MySQL), visualization tools (Streamlit, Tableau, ThoughtSpot), and containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to translate AI/ML concepts into clear business narratives
  • Self-sufficiency and ability to thrive in autonomous, ambiguous environments
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to partner across functions and integrate feedback
