About the role

Executive leader owning product strategy and engineering execution for CoreWeave's Research Training Stack, bridging HPC/cloud-native capabilities with frontier AI research to enable high-performance, scalable AI model training and evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Frontier Orchestration: Oversee the evolution of SUNK (Slurm on Kubernetes) to provide researchers with deterministic, bare-metal performance through a cloud-native interface.
  • Holistic Training Services: Drive the development of next-generation orchestrators and automated training-based evaluation frameworks for model quality throughout the lifecycle.
  • Post-Training Excellence: Build infrastructure for sophisticated Reinforcement Learning (RL) and RLHF pipelines to refine foundation models efficiently.
  • Customer Advocacy: Serve as the primary technical partner for lead researchers at global AI labs, translating future-state requirements into actionable product roadmaps.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of engineering leadership experience.
  • 5+ years managing large-scale infrastructure at a top-tier research lab or AI-native cloud provider.
  • Deep hands-on knowledge of Slurm, Kubernetes, and networking requirements for distributed training clusters (InfiniBand/RDMA).
  • Experience supporting frontier model research (pre-training and post-training).
  • Proven track record delivering mission-critical services on multi-thousand GPU clusters (H100/Blackwell/Rubin).
  • Ability to define strategic next steps in the AI stack, including automated RL loops and sandbox environments.
