About the role

Join the team behind Core Location to design and build the future of device location API, and the mechanisms that power estimating on all Apple platforms. Collaborate to understand API usage, identify problems, and design solutions across SDK frameworks and system processes, working as a system software expert with domain specialists in positioning science.

Responsibilities

  • Understand usage of Core Location API (internally at Apple and by developers)
  • Identify problems and needs related to Core Location
  • Design and build answers to these problems
  • Work on architecture and utility components of the system processes that back the SDK frameworks
  • Collaborate with domain specialists in positioning science
  • Support app teams building new features with Core Location
  • Design and support APIs
  • Foster simplicity and reliability
  • Build partnerships and collaborate to meet shared objectives
  • Handle conflict situations effectively
  • Tackle new opportunities and tough challenges with urgency, energy, and enthusiasm

Qualifications

  • 2 years of development experience in C or C++
  • Deep understanding of multi-threaded programming and synchronization
  • Experience in overall operating system design and implementation
  • BS or MS in CS, EE, or related
  • Experience incorporating AI-powered tools effectively into day-to-day workflows
  • Development experience in Objective-C and Swift
  • Experience designing and supporting APIs
  • Motivated by simplicity and reliability
  • Ability to build partnerships and collaborate with others
  • Ability to handle conflict situations effectively
  • Willingness to take on new opportunities and challenges with urgency, energy, and enthusiasm
