About the role

Remote engineering role focusing on Thread & Matter standards with emphasis on reliability and scalability for Home experiences. Collaborate with test labs and internal/third-party teams to drive metrics, profile and improve network size and traffic handling, and implement solutions through iterative testing.

Responsibilities

  • Build out and drive key metrics for network reliability and scalability
  • Collaborate with test labs, Apple internal and third party Thread/Matter engineering teams
  • Profile the network to identify problems and solutions, implement and test improvements
  • Work independently with cross-functional teams to drive large efforts and report progress
  • Understand and design reliable networks, potentially lead in-field technical initiatives

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of networking experience
  • In-depth knowledge of C, C++ (other languages optional)
  • Experience with packet analysis and wire traces
  • Experience with Wireless protocols
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Thread experience (preferred)
  • Zigbee experience
  • WiFi experience
  • Congestion control experience
