About the role

Pioneering multimodal agent research to enable intelligent agents and generative AI technologies across Apple devices and services. Focus on architectures, training paradigms, and robust agent capabilities (planning, grounding, tool-use, autonomous task execution) for multimodal foundation models and multimodal LLMs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop state-of-the-art multimodal foundation models for Apple Intelligence.
  • Develop various agent capabilities for multimodal LLMs, including computer use agents, visual tool use, thinking with images, and multimodal web search.
  • Develop, fine-tune, and evaluate domain specific foundation models for various tasks and applications in Apple’s AI powered products
  • Conduct applied research to transfer pioneering research in generative AI to production-ready technologies
  • Understand product requirements, translate them into modeling tasks and engineering tasks

Qualifications

  • PhD, MS or equivalent experience
  • Experience in machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, or natural language processing
  • Proficiency in one of following languages: Python, Go, Java, C++
  • Excellent data analytical skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and team player
  • PhD preferred
