About the role

Join Apple's System RF Performance team to architect and design wireless products with a focus on RF, antenna design, system integration, and wireless performance. Hands-on development environment in a fast-paced setting, leveraging fundamentals in RF and communications to advance product implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Apply knowledge of RF fundamentals and communication theory to wireless performance
  • Collaborate on system-level optimization, testing, and troubleshooting of wireless modules
  • Develop and validate RF modules and performance characteristics
  • Analyze antenna radiation patterns and radiation performance
  • Utilize RF test equipment and lab facilities for characterization and calibration
  • Write efficient and scalable code in MATLAB, Python, C, or C++
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies
  • Communicate findings and present results clearly to stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Telecommunication Engineering; MSc/PhD highly valued
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Cellular 5G, LTE, GNSS, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth
  • Excellent understanding of RF fundamentals and experience with RF lab equipment (spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, vector signal generators, power sensors, etc.)
  • Strong programming ability in MATLAB, Python, C, or C++
  • Solid understanding of wireless standards (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 5G, LTE, GNSS)
  • Strong energy and drive to thrive in a startup-like environment
  • Knowledge of radiation performance, antenna and wave propagation theory
  • Experience in testing in anechoic chambers and with RF test equipment
  • Experience handling, visualizing, and analyzing antenna radiation patterns
  • Familiar with RF calibrations and RF metrics
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to monitor and stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies
  • Ability to identify and explore new opportunities
