About the role

Power design engineer leading the integration of inductive wireless power Tech into Apple products, coordinating with architecture, firmware, system EE, silicon, and other cross-functional teams to develop and validate wireless charging systems for devices such as iPad, iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the integration of inductive wireless charging technology into products in partnership with multiple discipline teams (architecture, FW, system EE, silicon, noise and vibration, safety, thermal, reliability, operations, regulatory teams, and more).
  • Develop and design wireless power systems.
  • Write requirements, specifications, and test plans for hardware and FW.
  • Define factory tests, test limits, and work with factory and peers to perform failure analysis and corrective actions.
  • Guide the team in developing algorithms, state-transition diagrams/flowcharts and analysis for each operation regime.
  • Travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

  • BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience.
  • Solid EE fundamentals in analog and digital design with focus on Power Electronics.
  • Fundamentals in modeling, data collection, data analysis, and statistical analysis tools (e.g., Python, JMP, Matlab).
  • Circuit level simulation experience in EE platforms like Cadence/ADS/LTspice.
  • Comfortable with tackling new challenges with critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player with great communication skills and ability to lead multi-discipline teams to make design tradeoffs.
  • Hands-on experience in system definition, integration, architecture, prototyping, and validation.
  • Knowledge and experience in direct wireless charging.
  • Experience in high-volume products from concept to end, and working with contract manufacturers.
  • Experience with firmware definition and debugging.
  • Experience working with cross-functional firmware partners.
  • Direct coding experience and algorithm design experience is a plus.
  • Masters/PhD in relevant EE field.
