About the role

In this highly visible role at Apple, you will be at the center of a chip design effort, collaborating with RTL and implementation teams to architect CPU performance features, identify bottlenecks, and develop performance simulators and exploration tools to optimize workloads and power across RTL and software.

Responsibilities

  • Architect cutting-edge CPU performance features in collaboration with RTL and implementation teams
  • Identify and devise solutions for hardware and software performance bottlenecks
  • Develop advanced CPU performance simulator and associated infrastructure
  • Develop new performance exploration and correlation tools and processes
  • Collaborate with software and system teams to identify, profile, and optimize critical workloads for CPU performance and power
  • Correlate performance of RTL with CPU performance simulator

Qualifications

  • Minimum BS and 10+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience in CPU performance architecture, micro-architecture design, and performance analysis
  • Experience working in a performance modeling environment
  • Experience using C/C++
