About the role

Join Apple's Wireless Hardware group as part of the Wireless Systems Design Validation Team to develop automated test infrastructure and validation methodologies for cutting-edge wireless and PHY systems, accelerating silicon development while maintaining high quality.

Responsibilities

  • Develop automation frameworks and test infrastructure for validating wireless and PHY systems across RF and baseband domains, enabling comprehensive validation and regression testing throughout the silicon development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with PHY, MAC, and RF design engineers to translate specifications into automated test strategies, identify validation gaps, and drive resolution of complex system issues.
  • Create equipment drivers, control interfaces, and intelligent test sequences; analyze results to provide actionable insights and continuously improve test methodologies to meet demanding next-generation wireless system requirements.

Qualifications

  • BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience
  • Strong knowledge of wireless communication systems, with emphasis on WiFi; cellular technologies experience is a plus
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Shell scripting, and/or C/C++/C# for test automation
  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering; Master's or Ph.D. preferred
  • Deep understanding of key performance indicators and impairments in RF and baseband domains
  • Hands-on experience testing wireless silicon in laboratory environments
  • Proficiency with RF test equipment including signal analyzers, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers
  • Proven experience developing test automation, including equipment drivers, debug tools, automation scripts and interfaces
  • Experience with automation infrastructure development (traceability, repeatability) and related tools (Git, CI/CD, databases, reporting tools)
