About the role

Apple’s Industrial Design team seeking a CMF Engineering Program Manager to collaborate with the internal color team and drive color, materials, and finish development from concept through engineering and manufacturing across multiple products and groups.

Responsibilities

  • Track, manage, and drive multiple color palettes for multiple products with different lead times and release dates.
  • Manage timelines for color design decisions and engineering builds.
  • Own hundreds of physical samples and development documents.
  • Pivot and adapt during iterative design processes and design changes.
  • Understand product timelines on design and engineering sides.
  • Hold weekly designer reviews and meetings with engineers; move projects forward as needed.
  • Ingest and prioritize large amounts of information and translate it for manufacturing, engineers, and designers in multiple formats.
  • Distill information technically and troubleshoot with engineers.
  • Maintain ownership of color targets, master standards, and build units.
  • Collaborate across groups: vendors, product teams, research teams, and manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • Superb organizational skills.
  • Experience managing large amounts of information.
  • Technical background in material science, engineering, consumer products, textiles, fashion, or automotive.
  • Ability to take direction and work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • High emotional intelligence: filter information, understand urgency, and know when to initiate conversation.
  • Knowledge of Keynote, Excel, Numbers.
