About the role

Machine Learning Engineer to develop ML models for computer vision and graphics applications within Apple Vision Pro and VisionOS, contributing to data collection, model design, experiments, validation, and shipping features on iOS/watchOS/visionOS platforms. Collaborates with ML, data, and software engineers across multi-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the end-to-end ML lifecycle from data collection and processing to model design, experimentation, validation, and QA in the wild.
  • Develop ML models for computer vision and graphics applications within the Video Computer Vision (VCV) Face and Body technologies team.
  • Adapt state-of-the-art methods or implement new methods to ship features on visionOS and iOS platforms.
  • Collaborate with other ML engineers as well as data and software engineers across functions to deliver high-quality features for a large user base.

Qualifications

  • BS degree and 10+ years of experience
  • MS degree in computer vision, computer graphics, machine learning or related field
  • PhD in computer vision, computer graphics, machine learning, computer science, computer engineering or related fields.
  • Software engineering skills and proficiency in Python
  • Experience with PyTorch
  • Independent problem solving skills
  • Passion for delivering high quality features to large groups of diverse end-users
  • Excellent communication and experience working with multi-functional teams
  • Self-motivated with proven track record to optimally prioritize and deliver tasks on schedule
