About the role

Senior data engineer role focusing on large-scale data systems within a cybersecurity software engineering team, with emphasis on Spark, data modeling, and data pipelines in a hyper-scale distributed environment. Requires strong data engineering, JVM languages, Spark, and familiarity with cloud platforms and data governance.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing relational and medallion data architectures
  • Designing and implementing production data pipelines at scale
  • Proficiency with JVM languages (Scala or Java preferred), Spark, Golang, or Swift
  • Mentoring engineers, conducting code reviews, and contributing to technical best practices and documentation
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deliver data-intensive solutions
  • Working with ML/AI workflows and feature engineering to support analytics, reporting, and ML use cases
  • Knowledge engineering including semantic models and knowledge graphs
  • Ensuring data quality and compliance with governance frameworks

Qualifications

  • 4+ years designing and implementing relational and medallion data architectures
  • 4+ years designing and implementing production data pipelines at scale
  • 4+ years with JVM languages (Scala or Java preferred) and Spark, Golang, or Swift
  • 5+ years in data engineering and expertise with data modeling
  • 5+ years experience with JVM languages: Java or Scala
  • 5+ years experience with big data platforms
  • Familiarity with ML/AI workflows and feature engineering
  • Knowledge engineering including semantic models and knowledge graphs
  • Experience with cloud compute environments (OpenStack, AWS, Azure)
  • Experience mentoring engineers, conducting code reviews, and contributing to best practices and documentation
  • Knowledge of data quality frameworks and validation techniques
  • Knowledge of data governance and compliance frameworks
