About the role

Internship opportunity to work on space-based cloud servers, distributed systems, full-stack development, hardware acceleration, embedded systems, and simulation environments for space applications.

Responsibilities

  • Help integrate k3s, OpenStack, and container orchestration frameworks into space server prototypes.
  • Build user-facing tools such as customer dashboards, backend services, and interfaces with ground-station APIs and satellite control.
  • Work on integrating GPUs and FPGAs into space compute clusters and explore exposing these accelerators to cloud customers.
  • Develop firmware for space electronics, assist with PCB bring-up, and ensure hardware robustness.
  • Develop simulation and testing environments for validation, stress testing, and customer testing, including interaction with orbital simulation tools.

Qualifications

  • Curiosity, technical depth, drive to solve hard problems.
  • Interest or background in Linux, containers, Kubernetes/k3s, distributed systems, infrastructure-as-code.
  • Experience or interest in modern web development (React, Vue, Svelte), backend (Python, Go, Node), API design, DevOps.
  • Interest or experience in systems programming, heterogeneous compute (GPU/FPGA), cloud resource orchestration, virtualization.
  • Skills in embedded C/C++, microcontrollers, electronics debugging.
  • Proficiency in Python, simulation workflows, CI/CD, system integration.
