Sr. Data Engineer
About the role
Led by Acely, an AI education platform helping students prepare for college, seeking a Senior Data Engineer to build and optimize their data infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Build and scale data infrastructure, designing pipelines for growth while maintaining reliability and performance.
- Own the modern data stack, implementing and optimizing ETL processes with tools like FiveTran and Segment.
- Architect the data warehouse in Snowflake, creating a single source of truth.
- Develop and maintain DBT models, ensuring data quality, transformations, and trusted metrics.
- Enable product analytics using PostHog and Google Analytics.
- Implement BI tools like MetaBase, Looker, or PowerBI for accessible insights.
- Manage diverse databases including MongoDB and Postgres.
- Ensure data quality and governance, scaling data systems responsibly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data needs and build solutions.
- Contribute to data analysis, infrastructure projects, or application development as needed.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of data engineering experience.
- Deep expertise with modern ETL/CDP platforms (FiveTran, Segment, etc.).
- Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses.
- Strong SQL and NoSQL database skills (MongoDB, Postgres).
- Experience with product analytics tools (PostHog, Google Analytics, Mixpanel).
- Proficiency in Python for data pipeline development.
- Ability to own the entire data stack and communicate technically and business-wise.
