About the role

Engineer role focused on developing and validating analog power intent methodologies, circuit ERC solutions, and CAD flows for analog, RF, and mixed-signal designs. You will influence circuit design across technology nodes, build SPICE simulation environments, automate workflows, and collaborate with layout, technology, and EDA tool vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Solve issues related to transistor level simulations on Analog, RF and Microwave applications with Spice simulators in command-line and Virtuoso environment.
  • Guide and assist designers in solving tool issues related to Analog Design Environment (ADE/XL, Maestro, OCEAN etc.) and develop automation flows.
  • Steer methodology on SPICE simulation and modeling techniques related to circuits, influencing advancements across technology nodes.
  • Architect and develop next generation in-house EDA CAD flow solutions related to Analog and Mixed-signal simulations.

Qualifications

  • BS degree
  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience in SPICE simulation and design environment for Analog/RF circuit domain
  • Programming/scripting skills in Perl, Python, TCL, SKILL language, or Shell; ability to automate rapid design needs
  • Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of Cadence ADE environment including Virtuoso Schematic Editor, PDK, CDF, Callbacks, Netlisting, ADE-L/XL/GXL/Maestro, OCEAN tools
  • Knowledge of Spice simulators (Spectre, Spectre RF, Solido/AFS, Hspice, ADS, GoldenGate, AMS Designer, XA, Hsim, FineSim)
  • Ability to solve simulation accuracy, speed and capacity issues (AC, DC, Tran, Harmonic Balance, S-parameters, PSS, etc.)
  • Experience in device-level checks and statistical simulations (Monte Carlo, PVT, Reliability/aging) is a plus
  • Understanding of custom IC designs, Post-layout DSPF/SPF extraction, Verilog-AMS/Verilog-A, PDK and spice models qualification
  • Experience with Perforce and/or regressions is preferred
  • Ability to drive a software development team to build novel and complex applications
