About the role

Apple's Data Analytics team seeks a web backend developer to build services and applications for parsing and understanding diagnostic and usage data from Apple devices. The role involves designing, building, and iterating on stream processing and ingestion pipelines, collaborating with data scientists and engineers to capture requirements, validate design decisions, and implement solutions. High visibility with impact within Apple Software Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and iterate on stream processing and ingestion pipelines for device telemetry data.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and engineers across Apple to capture and refine requirements, validate design decisions, and implement solutions.
  • Develop web apps and REST APIs to support data analytics platform functionality.
  • Work across device, data collection, compute, and query/visualization interfaces to enable analytics insights.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or relevant work experience.
  • 3+ years experience implementing web apps and REST APIs.
  • Extensive knowledge of databases like Postgres and/or cache layers like Redis.
  • Proficiency with container-based orchestration (Kubernetes, EC2, Mesos, etc.).
  • Familiarity with public cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Demonstrated commitment to CI/CD.
