About the role

SAP ABAP Support Engineer responsible for developing, troubleshooting, and maintaining SAP-based enterprise applications, contributing to system reliability and security, and collaborating with SAP Support Functional, BASIS, and Security teams on a 24x7 global support model.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring support quality and ensuring process adherence
  • Identifying technical improvement areas for teams or individuals
  • Identifying and implementing automation opportunities
  • On-call participation during assigned time to respond to production issues
  • Interacting regularly with SAP Support Functional, BASIS, and Security teams
  • Issue management, proactive system monitoring, upgrades, and minor enhancements
  • Delivering services 24x7 through a globally distributed team across locations

Qualifications

  • 2 years professional experience in SAP Application Development and Support and external non-SAP Services
  • 2 years professional experience in developing custom applications in ABAP and troubleshooting/customizing SAP delivered standard applications; experience with IDOCs, BAPI, RFCs and Web services
  • 2 years professional experience with Application programming on S/4HANA including RAP, OData, CDS Views, SAP FIOR (likely SAP FIORI)
  • 2 years professional hands-on development experience in Eclipse
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Hands-on experience in Performance Tuning for ABAP and CDS, HANA applications
  • Ability to collaborate closely with Functional Consultants to drive issues to closure
  • Flexibility to participate in rotational on-call support and respond to production issues immediately
  • Knowledge of SAP technologies/frameworks such as SAPUI5 and SAP BTP Services is a plus
  • Experience in Production Support projects
  • Knowledge of SAP SQLScript for HANA
  • Hands-on experience with API testing tools like Postman, SOAP UI
  • Knowledge of debugging web applications using browser dev tools (e.g., Chrome DevTools)
