About the role

Senior role focusing on hyper-scaled Core Backbone & Internet networking. Design and develop new applications to build a highly scalable core network for Apple, delivering scale and reliability across edge and backbone. Collaborate with global teams to improve reliability, visibility, and efficiency metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with global team members to develop software systems to improve key engineering and operational metrics of reliability, visibility and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with core network teams and external groups to deliver turnkey solutions.
  • Possess foundational network technology knowledge to excel in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering.
  • Expert level of proficiency with modern programming languages and frameworks (Python/Django/Golang strongly preferred).
  • Strong experience on relational databases (Postgres, MySQL).
  • Strong software engineering background with experience building/maintaining RESTful APIs.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD tools and techniques.
  • Strong experience with Linux system administration.
  • Experience with application containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience operating and developing infrastructure and services in cloud platforms.
  • Understanding of centralized configuration management and provisioning technologies (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) a plus.
  • Understanding of network protocols (BGP, MPLS).
  • Familiarity with network monitoring protocols (NetFlow, SNMP).
  • Experience with network protocols (TCP/IP, TLS, HTTP, UDP, DNS).
  • Solid understanding of network operating systems (e.g., Junos, IOS, EOS) a plus.
