About the role

Software Engineer at Northwood Space focused on designing, implementing, and optimizing a global service that delivers connectivity to customers, with ownership over areas from ground station control to customer APIs and across multiple domains including edge systems, data movement, cloud orchestration, APIs, monitoring, telemetry, and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement control systems for ground station hardware and interact with embedded systems to RF modems
  • Architect and optimize data pipelines for low-latency, high-throughput data distribution across platforms
  • Lead the design of distributed systems to orchestrate the global ground network across cloud and on-premises environments
  • Design and build robust APIs for customer and internal interactions; develop front-end interfaces and scalable data backends integrated with ETL pipelines
  • Create comprehensive monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure uptime and rapid issue resolution
  • Transform telemetry data into actionable insights for predictive diagnostics and real-time customer updates
  • Develop secure, reliable infrastructure and pipelines enabling continuous deployment without disrupting systems
  • Create simulations and orchestration software for satellite and network design and validation

Qualifications

  • 0-2 years of professional software development experience (including internships or personal projects)
  • Completed bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math or related major
