SWE Fellow - Human Frontier Collective (Canada)
About the role
Remote, independent contractor (1099) SWE Fellow position for the Human Frontier Collective Fellowship in Canada. Six-month estimated duration with potential extension; must be authorized to work in Canada; visa sponsorship not available.
Responsibilities
- Collaborative Work: Engage in high-impact projects with partnered AI labs and platforms; design complex, domain-specific problems and datasets to evaluate AI models; provide expert insights to improve accuracy, reasoning, and overall performance.
- Join the HFC Community: Become part of an interdisciplinary network of innovators and thought leaders advancing frontier AI
- Contribute to Research Publications: Co-author technical reports and research papers with Scale’s research team to boost academic visibility and professional recognition
Qualifications
- 5+ years of software engineering or related technical experience, or equivalent academic domain expertise (e.g., PhD, postdoctoral research, or faculty experience in Computer Science or related field)
- Demonstrated coding proficiency and analytical abilities; deep expertise in Python, Java, Rust, Swift, JavaScript, or C++
