SWE Fellow - Human Frontier Collective (US)
About the role
Fully remote, 1099 independent contractor fellowship of six months (with potential extension) for engineers and researchers to design, evaluate, and interpret advanced generative AI systems, collaborating with AI labs and platforms and co-authoring research publications.
Responsibilities
- Collaborative Work: Design complex, domain-specific problems and datasets to rigorously evaluate AI models, and provide expert insights to enhance their accuracy, reasoning, and overall performance.
- HFC Community: Engage with an interdisciplinary network of innovators and thought leaders advancing frontier AI.
- Contribute to Research Publications: Co-author technical reports and research papers with Scale’s research team (e.g., SciPredict, PropensityBench, Professional Reasoning Benchmark).
Qualifications
- 5+ years of software engineering or related technical experience, or equivalent academic/industry expertise (e.g., PhD, postdoctoral research, faculty experience in Computer Science or related field)
- Proficiency in one or more of the following languages: Python, Java, Rust, Swift, JavaScript, or C++
- Detail-oriented, innovative thinker with a passion for applied AI research and collaboration.
