Senior Full-stack Engineer
About the role
Founding full stack engineer role at Flick to build core infrastructure for AI-native filmmaking, including media generation interface and scalable backend systems, with direct collaboration with founders.
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable backend systems for media generation, storage, and delivery.
- Architect APIs and services that power real-time, stateful creative workflows.
- Own end-to-end features across frontend, backend, and infrastructure.
- Ensure high performance and reliability across complex, async-heavy systems.
- Build and maintain integrations with AI model providers and compute platforms.
- Establish strong engineering practices: testing, observability, CI/CD, and code quality.
- Work closely with product and frontend teams to ship cohesive experiences.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in system design and backend architecture at scale.
- Proficiency across the stack (e.g. TypeScript/Node, Python, modern web frameworks).
- Experience building and maintaining production-grade APIs and distributed systems.
- Deep understanding of performance, concurrency, and reliability.
- High standards for code quality, testing, and maintainability.
- Ability to take ambiguous problems and turn them into clean, scalable systems.
- Startup mindset: ownership, speed, and pragmatism.

Founded by an award-winning filmmaker and a founding engineer at Instagram, Flick defines an interface specifically designed for native AI filmmaking that feels natural and enables end-to-end creative flows. Think of Flick as Figma for AI filmmaking. There are 4 complete AI short films created using Flick that got 20+ awards in international film festivals already and our early creator residency community are generating several AI short films every week. We are also building a community where we produce our own AI films as well as collaborating with other well-known filmmakers to share their “behind-the-scenes” workflows as resuable templates to inspire users in our community. We not only build product, we also build world-class content. The whole film industry will be revolutionized by AI and our goal is to be “the product” that defines this category.
