About the role

Principal Product Manager to build the HTS API Marketplace, the commercial and developer-facing layer through which enterprise partners access Hopper’s lodging and car capabilities. 0-to-1 role focused on defining packaging, pricing, partner discovery/integration, and go-to-market for a revenue-generating API marketplace.

Responsibilities

  • Define the HTS API Marketplace: structure, packaging, and pricing for capabilities (HTS Connect, Search Polygons, Autocomplete, Ranking, Content & Property Mapping, Room Mapping, Deduplication/Auction, Pricing, Extranet, Taxes, Custom Deals Engine)
  • Coordinate with capability PMs to translate roadmap constraints into externally consumable API products
  • Own the commercial model: platform vs variable fees, take rate per capability, enterprise packaging, and custom deals framework for large partners
  • Build the developer/partner experience from scratch: API specs, onboarding flows, documentation standards, sandbox environments, and integration tooling
  • Use AI tools and rapid prototyping to test ideas (mock API responses, partner portals, pricing/ranking simulations) before engineering
  • Establish go-to-market motion: identify partners, sequence launches, define success metrics
  • Own marketplace revenue P&L: model and track GBV, take rate, and unit economics with Finance
  • Set sequencing/prioritization across capabilities from in-progress to not started
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Data Science, Commercial, Finance, and Supply, and coordinate with other PMs to deliver revenue-generating platform

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of Product Management experience with at least one 0-to-1 product
  • Experience building developer-facing or B2B marketplace products, API product design, and enterprise packaging
  • AI-native working style: use of LLMs and vibe coding for prototyping; PoCs or demos using AI
  • Strong understanding of marketplace economics: take rates, incentives, platform vs variable models
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple product teams and surface dependencies without owning underlying engineering
  • Experience working with external enterprise partners and multi-phase rollouts
  • Fluency with SQL and large-scale transactional datasets
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication for API and product documentation
